Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response: I remember a time I was at the beach. The sun was going down, and it looked really pretty. The sky had nice colors, like orange and purple. The waves came up on the sand. I heard the waves and a bird. I felt very calm and full of wonder. The big ocean made my problems seem small. It helped me see that I should stop and enjoy nature more. Summary: Today in class we worked on a One pager assignment. Reflection: I learned a new poem and new meaning to some words.

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response: A classmate once relied on me too much for homework answers. They kept demanding solutions late at night. I decided to set a clear boundary. I told them I would only help explain concepts, not do the work. This first hurt our friendship. They got mad and pulled away for a bit. But it actually helped in the end. They learned to ask for help on how to solve problems instead of just asking for answers. Our friendship became better because it had more mutual respect. Summary: Today in class we did a Common Lit assignment.  Reflection: I finished my Common Lit assignment.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response:   My grandmother got blood cancer. It was stage three. We only had six months with her. Those months felt very precious. Her strength faded fast. It was like watching something beautiful disappear. Frost's poem says "Nothing gold can stay." My grandmother's time with us was like gold. It was bright but didn't last. Her quick passing showed me how true that is. Life can change very quickly. Summary: Today in class we read and analyzed two poems of Robert Forster. Reflection: I learned about a new poem and new meaning of life.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response:   My favorite word right now is "coalesce." It means to come together or join. I like it because it shows how different things can mix to make something new and better. In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response:   Imagination helps me to deal with some challenges in my life. When I am faced with any problem where I'm the one who needs to make it work, I imagine that good things are  going to happen. Then, I really try my hardest to make that positive outcome come true. I totally believe that what people think is most likely what ends up happening to them. Summary: Today in class we analyzed the poem  called “Birches”. Reflection: I learn we should not rush through our life and enjoy every moment of it.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: I went swimming in a river with my cousins one day. The river had a really strong current. Suddenly, one of my cousins got into trouble in the middle of the river. She was drowning. This was very dangerous. I can't swim either, but I jumped in to try and help her. But then I started drowning too. Just when we were both in trouble, another cousin saw us. She threw us a floatie. I grabbed the floatie. Then I grabbed my cousin's hand. I pulled her to the floatie. We both grabbed it. This saved us. We were safe. It was a scary moment, but we focused and managed to save each other. Summary: Today in class we read and analyzed ''Out, Out—” by Robert Frost. Reflection:  I learned about a new story.

I told my friends I don't think I am smart enough for it. But my friend said something that really stuck with me. She told me, "You're a hard worker. I've seen you grow so much these past few years. Just give it some time, and you'll get used to it. You can do this." That made a big difference. It helped me believe in myself and not give up. But I stepped forward to command the flag detail. It was a big responsibility. I took a deep breath and then I gave the commands. After it was all done, I felt really proud of myself. Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response:   One of the best gifts I ever received was a Nakshi Kantha from my grandma. A Nakshi Kantha is a Bengali embroidered quilt, and she had made a few for me over the years. Among all of them, the last one she gave me before she passed away is the most precious. It is my best gift because it was the last ever gift from her. I truly admire her gift, and I keep it very securely and with so much love. Every time I see it, it reminds me of her love and hardworking art. Summary: Today in class we took a vocabulary quiz. Reflection: I learn about how to claim and provide evidence for writing an essay and paragraph.
