After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: I went swimming in a river with my cousins one day. The river had a really strong current. Suddenly, one of my cousins got into trouble in the middle of the river. She was drowning. This was very dangerous. I can't swim either, but I jumped in to try and help her. But then I started drowning too. Just when we were both in trouble, another cousin saw us. She threw us a floatie. I grabbed the floatie. Then I grabbed my cousin's hand. I pulled her to the floatie. We both grabbed it. This saved us. We were safe. It was a scary moment, but we focused and managed to save each other.

Summary: Today in class we read and analyzed ''Out, Out—” by Robert Frost.

Reflection:  I learned about a new story.

Write about a dream that felt real.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?
