What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.

Prompt Response: The best advice my parent gave me was to always treat people with respect, even when they don’t do the same to you. This came up after I told them about a problem I had with a friend at school. I wanted to know how to handle the situation without making it worse. They explained that how you act says more about you than the other person. That advice has helped me stay calm and make better choices when dealing with others.

Summary: Today in class I worked on the writable.

Reflection: I learned about a new poem called Mother to Son.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?
