You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

 Prompt Response: The class has been a good experience for me so far. I have learned a lot about Americans and their culture through the literature we read. I am also getting better at analyzing texts and poems. Talking about bloggers has helped me explore new things about myself. Overall, I enjoy the course because I am learning new things about American history and culture. It is helping me understand more about literature.

Summary: Today in class we did assessment about Emily Dickinson's poem. 

Reflection: I learned how hard to forget a person throughout the poem.

Prompt Response: One issue that stood out to me is the pressure to look perfect, mostly because of social media and beauty standards. People are always seeing edited pictures and “ideal” bodies, which can make them feel bad about how they look. Because of this, some turn to cosmetic surgery or weight-loss drugs, even though they can have risks and don’t always make people happier. I think this is important because it affects people’s confidence and how they see themselves. It shows that the way society defines beauty can be unrealistic and harmful. Prompt Response: Our group made sure everyone was involved by talking together in class and checking in often. We split the work so each person had something to do, like finding sources or writing a part. We made sure everyone understood their job. While working, we would ask each other how it was going and help if someone was confused. If someone was falling behind, we would remind them in a respectful way. This helped us stay on track and made sure everyone did their part. Summary: Today in class we work on gathering evidence from our sources. Reflection: I learned team work is dream work.
