Prompt: Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response: During my break, I spent most of my time resting and being with my family. I also started fasting because it is Ramadan, which is very special to me. Waking up early for sahoor and breaking my fast at iftar helped me feel more connected to my faith. I went Eid shopping with my family, which was really fun, and we also attended a sahoor fest where we enjoyed food and time together. Along with that, I caught up on sleep and relaxed without worrying about school. The break helped me reset and feel more focused and grateful when I returned to school.

Summary: Today in class we work on a poem.

Reflection: I learned about a new poem called ''Still I Rise'' by Maya Angelou.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

As you grow older and face new experiences, what issue or topic do you think you'll have to stand up and debate most often, whether with friends, family, or society?
