After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity.

Prompt Response: One of the most absurd moments I remember was when I was playing a card game with my friend. I thought I knew how to do a tricky move or trick. I tried to do it confidently, but I got it totally wrong. I looked so silly trying to act sure of myself. My friend laughed, not meanly, but because I looked ridiculous. I felt really foolish in that moment, even though I believed I was doing well.

Summary: Today in class we analyzed a new poem.

Reflection: I learn to analyze the poems better.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.
